Game rules

The game rules are an extension of the general terms and conditions. The general terms and conditions should be read in the event of a ban, or simply in order to check what is and is not allowed. In particular, please see section 11. in this regard.

Circumventing the game rules will be considered a violation and will be treated as such. All game rules also apply to players who intend to delete their account or those who have already activated the deletion phase for their account.

1. Account

1.1. Each player is only allowed to possess and play one account per game world.

1.2. The account holder is the person whose email address is registered to the account. Support has the right to request the email address as verification.

1.3. It is a violation of the rules to share passwords and will be punished as such. An exception is made for multi-player accounts. These are only permitted if the players of the account do not possess or play any other account in the same game world. Accounts that are played from the same PC are not allowed to use the same password. In case of suspicion, the game support team has the right to evaluate the situation and take necessary action if that is required in order to protect fair gameplay.

1.4. It is against the rules to attempt to gain access to another account illegitimately. Any login that is not carried out by the account holder will be deemed illegitimate. Violations could lead to permanent or temporary expulsion from the game. Our team will never ask you for your password!

1.5. Inactive Rail Nation accounts will not be deleted.

2. Netiquette

2.1. The use of a different language, other than the relevant and pre-defined server language or English in IGMs (in-game messages), chat messages, world chat and player profiles, is not permitted unless a translation of the message has been included that uses the server language version. The server language is determined by the country flags on the server selection screen. Multiple languages may be permitted as server languages; they are always directly displayed for each game world in a clear manner.

2.2. We do not allow any links in chat, profile or in-game forums. Exceptions are made for full URL links (not shortened) leading to domains of Travian Games GmbH and/or affiliated companies or trusted pages (YouTube, Wikipedia etc.). However, any links, even to trusted sites, which contain inappropriate content are not allowed.

2.3. Adverts, spam and chain mail of any kind are not allowed.

2.4. The publishing of IGMs, emails or chat logs in the game or the in-game forum without the permission of both parties (or all persons involved) is not permitted.

2.5. It is forbidden to force a player to delete, hand over or share their account, or to demand that they share their password or violate a rule.

2.6. The exploitation of bugs in the game is forbidden and will be punished. The same applies to the use of scripts, bots or other similar programs. The game must only be played with conventional browsers, rather than browsers modified for Rail Nation. Graphic packs are exempt from this rule.

2.7. The imitation of official institutions in Rail Nation or the use of unethical or politically incorrect names is forbidden and will be punished with immediate deletion.

2.8. Fraudulently presenting oneself as an employee of Rail Nation in any game chat/messaging channels is not allowed and will be punished accordingly.

3. Administration

3.1. The support team and administrators have the right to decide the punishment for rule violations. Compensation will never be paid for the disadvantages incurred in the duration of a ban; this includes lost harvests, lost competitions or other losses. The player has no claim to the reimbursement or replacement of time lost for premium functions (e.g. Plus account, researchers, mechanics) during a ban. There shall be no special treatment for paying players of Rail Nation regarding the game rules, neither in the duration of a ban, nor in the punishment chosen.

3.2. In the event of rule violations, your only contact is the support team for your game world. Players can send their appeal, explaining their circumstances, using the contact form provided (https://support.rail-nation.com/). Should the player have good reason to question the decision of support, please ask the ticket to be escalated to a higher level. The case will then be reviewed.

3.3. The Rail Nation team reserves the right to change the game rules at any time.

3.4. If a single provision in the game rules becomes invalid, only the validity of that particular provision shall be effected, not the whole set of rules. Invalid provisions will be changed by the administrators as soon as possible.

3.5. The Rail Nation team reserves the right to protect the healthy and fair state of gameplay for its players at all times, especially in situations where the evaluation and investigation of the potential harmful situation or action strongly indicates that harm is being incurred against gameplay and/or one or more players in the game. In such situations, the Rail Nation team has the full right to take necessary actions even if the specific situation as such is not covered in the current game rules.

4. Fair play

In the event that the equal and fair treatment of all participants in various places in the game is not respected by one or more players/participants, the following shall be considered as a violation of the fair play rules and will lead to in-game punishments:

4.1. Intentional disruption of the gameplay experience for one or more players by way of the following:

-Repeatedly using the same expression or word (spam content of any form)

-Abusing and exploiting features or bugs

-Insults, vilification, threats, public accusations or other questionable comment or actions.

4.2. Slander or disrespectful speech directed at a single player, a group of players or official representatives of the game in one or more game worlds, regardless of whether or not the player or member of the group is present in the respective game world.

4.3. Insulting direct or indirect messages/chat regarding religion, gender and race targeted at one player or a group of players.

4.4. Using insulting abbreviations (valid for rules 4.1., 4.2. and 4.3. under “fair play”).

4.5. Intentional creation of two or more accounts by a single player in the same game world with the aim of manipulating or exploiting in-game features in any way.
